The Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village’s
500 South Lounge Now Offering NFL Sunday Ticket
ST. AUGUSTINE, FL (September 2008) –The new 500 South Restaurant & Lounge at The Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village in St. Augustine is now offering NFL SUNDAY TICKETTM by Direct TV. Available at the lounge from 11 a.m.- 11 p.m. each Sunday throughout the NFL season, it provides the ability to access all NFL games played throughout the country. 500 South, which opened in April 2008 as part of the resort’s comprehensive $10 million property-wide renovation, boasts an impressive two-sided 50-inch television as the centerpiece of the lounge, as well as five additional flat-screen televisions positioned around the bar. There is no cover charge, and each week there are food and drink specials, such as Pizza Hut wing and pizza discounts, and beer, wine and mixed drink specials, according to Scott Selvaggi, the resort’s director of sales & marketing.
“500 South Lounge has become a new local ‘hang out’ for games on Sunday,” said Selvaggi. “So we thought this would be a great service to provide to all our football fan customers.”
Located just off of the resort’s beautifully-remodeled lobby, the lounge features striking hardwood floors, colorful carpeting, and new furniture in vibrant reds and oranges. It also has an enhanced and remodeled billiard room.
The adjacent 500 South Restaurant boasts a picturesque full-length wine wall, colorful new furniture, chic hardwood floors, warm wood tones, and dramatic lighting. The restaurant specializes in New American Regional Cuisine, using the freshest ingredients in the region.
Open to the public, the 500 South Restaurant is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner, providing a nice option for football fans.
It is open for breakfast from 6:30 – 11:30 a.m. Monday-Friday, and from 7 a.m.-noon on Saturday and Sunday. Diners have the option of a bountiful breakfast buffet, or ordering off of the menu. Morning menu offerings include Omelet Your Way, Broken Yolk Fried Egg Sandwich, Lemon Soufflé Pancakes, Belgian Waffles, Banana Oatmeal Brulee, and Grilled Chicken Benedict.
The large Breakfast Buffet, which is available from 6:30 a.m.-10 a.m. Monday-Friday, or from 7 a.m.-noon Saturday and Sunday, is just $14.95 per person. Offerings include eggs and omelets made-to-order, Cheese Blintzes, Hominy Cheese Grits, Smoked Apple-wood Bacon, Country Link and Sausage Patties, and fresh Bagels.
In addition, the restaurant is open for lunch from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday-Friday, and from noon-3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Cajun Popcorn Shrimp, Cheddar & Black Bean Quesadilla, Pecan Chicken Salad, Roger’s Reuben, American Steak Sandwich, and Backyard Style BBQ Chicken are among the many selections.
Dinner is served nightly from 5 p.m.-10 p.m., with a diverse menu and comprehensive wine and cocktail lists. Appetizer offerings range from Blue Crab Cake Portobello with Remoulade Sauce, to Caramelized Gulf Shrimp Lettuce Wrap, to Baked Colossal Onion Soup. The diverse entrées include Filet Mignon & Shrimp Scampi, Mediterranean Chicken, Grilled Atlantic Salmon, Penne Pollo, and Braised Coconut Halibut. Sandwiches and salads are also available for dinner, with such choices as Chop Chop Salad, Classic Caesar Salad with Grilled Shrimp, Black Angus Burger, and the Spicy Grilled Chicken Sandwich. A large dessert menu features such tempting options as Bananas Xango, Chocolate Lava, Anastasia Island Trifle, and Bourbon Pecan Pie. Appetizers and salads start at $6, with entrées ranging from $13 - $26, and desserts starting at $6.
