Saturday, Feb. 14 through Sunday, Feb. 15
President’s Weekend at the World Golf Hall of Fame
The World Golf Hall of Fame will celebrate a common thread between generations of United States presidents – golf – with its annual President’s Day weekend. With regular museum admission, the public can tour the museum, including its newest exhibit, “Bob Hope: Shanks for the Memory,” to find a collection of golf stories and Presidential memorabilia.  Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of contests within the museum as well as on the Challenge Hole and Putting Course (which was put to test by former President George H.W. Bush).  In addition, individuals can enjoy a photo opportunity in the Hall’s “Oval Office” with one of the presidents (courtesy of Potter’s Wax Museum in St. Augustine).  Throughout the weekend, active, retired and reserve military can enjoy free admission to the Hall of Fame and putting course (including a discount for dependents).  For more information, call 904-940-4123 or visit www.wgv.com.

The annual PGA TOUR STOP Spring Demo weekend will be held at the Slammer & Squire golf course Saturday, March 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, March 29 from 12 to 4 p.m. Golfers can test their favorite club models free of charge. Easter Festival at the World Golf Hall of Fame

Murray Bros. Caddyshack Charity Golf Tournament
Look forward to “A Good Time for a Great Cause” when the ninth-annual charity golf tournament returns with all the Murray brothers and their celebrity friends to benefit The Guardian Catholic Schools.  The event will kick off Thursday, April 23 with a pairings party and silent auction at Murray Bros. World Golf Hall of Fame Putting Championship
Qualifying Rounds: Saturday and Sunday, April 18-19; Saturday and Sunday, April 25-26
Final Round: Saturday, May 2
The World Golf Hall of Fame’s annual putting tournament will again pit amateur golfers in Northeast Florida against each other for the title of World Golf Hall of Fame Putting Champion.  The championship will take place on the Hall of Fame’s 18-hole, natural grass putting course and allow participants the chance to win more than $10,000 in prizes!  Qualifying rounds will take place over two consecutive weekends: Saturday and Sunday, April 18 and 19 and Saturday and Sunday, April 25 and 26.  The eight lowest qualifying scores from each weekend will advance to the finals Saturday, May 2.  For more information or to register, call 904-940-4010 or visit www.wgv.com.     

Riding Into History Motorcycle Concours D'Elegance

Riding Into History, one of America’s premier motorcycle events, will return to the World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Fla. for the 10th year on Saturday, May 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will feature classic American motorcycles and include charity rides to World Golf Village, a bike show featuring hundreds of motorcycles along the Village's Walk of Champions and a Biker's Ball to be held at the Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village.  All proceeds will benefit Buddy Check 12™, a partnership between Baptist Health and First Coast News to aid in the prevention and detection of breast cancer.  For more information, please visit www.wgv.com or www.ridingintohistory.org.

Coming Soon: The Dark Knight
Jan. 23 through Feb. 22, 2009 (limited engagement)
To coincide with the height of the Academy Award voting, Warner Bros. Pictures’ The Dark Knight will open again at the IMAX Theater for an encore presentation beginning Jan. 23. This is the first digitally remastered Hollywood release that will include sequences actually shot with an IMAX® camera.  In the film, Batman raises the stakes in his war on crime. With the help of Lieutenant Jim Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent, Batman sets out to dismantle the remaining criminal organizations that plague the city streets. The partnership proves to be effective, but they soon find themselves prey to a reign of chaos unleashed by a rising criminal mastermind known to the terrified citizens of Gotham as The Joker. This film is rated PG-13 and will be a special engagement.

Coming Soon: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Opening at the World Golf Hall of Fame IMAX® Theater this summer, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince brings the Hogwarts back to the giant screen.  Harry Potter's sixth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is colored by two truths: Lord Voldemort is wreaking havoc on much of Britain and teenage hormones are fully raging. In the film, Harry finds a mysterious potions book bearing the inscription, "Property of the Half-Blood Prince.”  He begins to explore its custom-made instructions and spells, excelling at creating the potions, but also learning about the ambiguity of magic. Special Exhibits at the World Golf Hall of Fame:

World Golf Hall of Fame, located at World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Fla., honors and celebrates golf’s greatest players and contributors.  A collaboration of 26 national and international golf organizations support the Hall of Fame, including the PGA TOUR, LPGA, USGA, Augusta National, PGA of America, The European Tour and The R&A. The museum houses interactive exhibits and historic and personal artifacts that tell the stories of its members and the game of golf. Adjacent is the 300-seat World Golf Hall of Fame IMAX® Theater. Bob Hope: Shanks for the Memory (through 2009)
Offering the largest collection of Hope memorabilia ever placed on public display in a single exhibition, the World Golf Hall of Fame’s current featured member exhibit displays over 400 personal artifacts and 300 images of beloved entertainer – and passionate golfer – Bob Hope. Guests will find rich storytelling alongside memorabilia, video footage and more as they wind through a variety of set pieces designed to reflect the different eras and locations significant to Hope’s life, including England, Cleveland, New York, Hollywood, Palm Springs, Washington D.C. and sites of USO shows around the world. “Shanks” will remain on display throughout 2009.  For more information and a virtual look at the exhibit, visit the World Golf Hall of Fame section on www.wgv.com or call 904-940-4123.

Class of 2008 Inductee Exhibits
The World Golf Hall of Fame is showcasing six new exhibits recognizing its 2008 Class of Inductees: Sir Bob Charles, Pete Dye, Carol Semple Thompson, Denny Shute, Herbert Warren Wind and Craig Wood.  The individuals were inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame at its annual Induction Ceremony Monday, Nov. 10, 2008.  Each exhibit features pieces of personal memorabilia that represent the inductees’ historical influence on the sport of golf, significant moments in their lives on the course as well as their personal interests.  From the Claret Jug from Charles’ 1963 Open Championship victory at Royal Lytham & St. Annes to the original pencil sketches by Anthony Ravielli for the cover of the book Wind wrote with Ben Hogan, “Five Lessons: The Modern Fundamentals of Golf,” the exhibits offer hundreds of personal items from the 2008 Class of Inductees.  For more information, call 904-940-4123 or visit www.wgv.com.
