This year’s Festival began with a grand opening celebration on Saturday, Nov. 23 and will run through Thursday, Dec. 5. Entries in the Festival are decorated and donated by organizations and businesses throughout the local community, and visitors can donate in two ways: by voting with their money on the entries and buying the entries through the silent auction. Online voting and donations will also be accepted at WorldGolfHallofFame.org.
Since 2005, more than 250 local organizations and businesses have donated trees and wreaths to this popular charity event. All money donated stays in St. Johns County, going to the United Way of St. Johns County and The St. Augustine Record’s Empty Stocking Fund. The Festival of Trees has raised more than $85,000 for local charities. The event is located at the St. Johns County Convention Center at the Renaissance World Golf Village Resort and is hosted jointly by the resort, the World Golf Hall of Fame & Museum and the Village’s two championship golf courses, Slammer & Squire and King & Bear.
