Registration Open for World Golf Hall of Fame's Annual Putting ChampionshipEvent Begins with First Qualifying Round Saturday, April 17 St. Augustine, Fla. (March 25, 2010) – The World Golf Hall of Fame’s seventh annual Putting Championship will begin Saturday, April 17. The event is open to all amateur golfers in Northeast Florida and offers the opportunity for participants to win more than $10,000 in prizes and the ultimate title of “World Golf Hall of Fame Putting Champion.” Participants may register through www.WorldGolfHallofFame.org in the April events calendar or by calling 904-940-4118. Presented by AT&T The Real Yellow Pages, Coca-Cola and PGA TOUR STOP, the event will host qualifying rounds the weekends of April 17-18 and 24-25, with the finals on May 1. The top 16 golfers (eight competitors with the lowest qualifying scores from each weekend) will receive prizes including a Cutter & Buck World Golf Hall of Fame-logoed golf shirt and a Hall of Fame membership, and ultimately compete for the title of “Putting Champion” at the finals. Registration for amateur participants is $35 and includes a gift bag, a practice round on the putting course, admission to the World Golf Hall of Fame featuring the special exhibit, Bob Hope: Shanks for the Memory, lunch at Fairways Café the day of qualifying as well as other benefits. Participants who want to better their scores can receive one additional qualifying round free with the purchase of two rounds. In addition to competing for the championship title, players will also compete for a variety of prizes including 2010 THE PLAYERS passes; a stay at The Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village; golf at THE PLAYERS Stadium Course and Dye’s Valley Course at TPC Sawgrass and as well as World Golf Village’s King & Bear and Slammer & Squire courses; gift certificates from PGA TOUR STOP at World Golf Village; private lessons from the PGA TOUR Golf Academy at World Golf Village; a stay at a Bluegreen resort in Florida; golf from Hampton Golf Clubs, Marsh Creek Country Club, Palencia and more.
