Father's Day Weekend at World Golf Village is All About Families and Fun

Corvette Show Returns June 19 and Hall of Fame's Community Day is June 20

St. Augustine, Fla. (June 8, 2010) -World Golf Village will be the site for two family-friendly  events Father’s Day weekend - Vettes at the Village Sat., June 19, and World Golf Hall of Fame Community Day, Sun., June 20. Both events are free and open to the public.

Returning to World Golf Village in its 11th year, Vettes at the Village, an all-Corvette car show, will feature over 100 classic, late model and custom Corvettes around the Walk of Champions Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. An awards ceremony will begin at 2:30 p.m. presenting Best of Show and first and second place for each class, as well as a Top 40 award plaque. All cars are eligible for the People’s Choice Award. Registration for Corvette owners is $30 and will be open from 7 to 10 a.m. To register a car, visit www.nfca.net. All proceeds from the event registrations will go to Wolfson’s Children Hospital.

On Father’s Day, Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the World Golf Hall of Fame will open its doors to everyone for its annual Community Day, presented by AT&T Real Yellow Pages and WOKV. The museum will offer complimentary admission to every guest with the opportunity to see the Hall’s featured exhibit, “Bob Hope: Shanks for the Memory.” The first 500 dads through the doors will receive a gift bag filled with gifts, coupons and certificates from businesses at World Golf Village and in the First Coast area.  All dads will also receive a complimentary round on the Hall of Fame’s 18-hole, natural grass putting course and half-price admission to one film at the World Golf Hall of Fame IMAX® Theater.

Throughout the day, dads and their families can take part in a variety of contests and activities at the Hall of Fame including a putting contest, contests on the golf simulator, U.S. Open self-guided tour, a photo opportunity with U.S. Open trophy and more. In front of the Hall of Fame, guests may enjoy a display by the Florida Air National Guard that will feature a mini aircraft, rock climbing wall and Starbase Science tent. Also on site will be Dunkin’ Donuts at Palencia, which will serve complimentary coffee and donuts until 11 a.m., Football Fanatics, the Jacksonville Jaguars ROAR cheerleaders and Cold Stone Creamery.
