Ernie Els Named 2015 Payne Stewart Award Recipient

The PGA TOUR and Southern Company named Ernie Els the 2015 Payne Stewart Award recipient. Els was recognized for his character, charity and sportsmanship through his Els for Autism Foundation, development of junior golf in South Africa and his four Major Championships.

The Payne Stewart Award is presented annually to a professional golfer who best exemplifies fellow Hall of Fame member Payne Stewart’s steadfast values of character, charity and sportsmanship. The PGA TOUR created the Payne Stewart Award in his honor, a year after his passing.

Deane Beman to receive 2015 PGA Distinguished Service Award

Deane Beman, Hall of Fame member and former PGA TOUR Commissioner, has been named the recipient of the 2015 PGA Distinguished Service Award. Beman has been the guiding force in elevating the profile of the TOUR and expanding golf’s global charitable reach and interest in the game.

Beman will receive the award on Nov. 13 at a ceremony in conjunction with the 99th PGA annual meeting. Instituted in 1988, the PGA Distinguished Service Award honors individuals who display leadership and humanitarian qualities, including integrity, sportsmanship and enthusiasm for the game of golf. Previous honorees include fellow Hall of Fame Members Bob Hope, Byron Nelson, Arnold Palmer, Patty Berg, Jack Nicklaus and President George H.W. Bush
