Class of 2013
The 2013 Induction Ceremony will take place on Monday, May 6, 2013 in the St. Johns County Convention Center adjacent to the World Golf Hall of Fame. For more information about tickets and vacation packages, please click here.

Colin Montgomerie and Ken Schofield complete the Class of 2013, and were announced on Dec. 18 at the European Tour's Race to Dubai Golfer of the Year luncheon in London, England. Montgomerie was elected through the International Ballot and Schofield has been selected via the Lifetime Achievement Category. To read the press release, click here.

Colin Montgomerie

The Scotland-born Montgomerie is one of the giants of European golf, with spectacular success on the European Tour and at the Ryder Cup. His name appears throughout the European Tour record book, including 31 victories, the most ever by a British player. He has been the European Tour's leading money winner a record eight times, including a remarkable seven in a row from 1993-99.

Montgomerie is one of the greatest Ryder Cup players of all time. He represented Europe eight times as a player and is one of only two Europeans to play on five winning sides. In 2010, Montgomerie added another chapter to his legacy when he captained the Europeans to a 14 1/2 -13 1/2 victory over the United States at Celtic Manor.

Ken Schofield

Schofield succeeded Hall of Fame Member John Jacobs as the Executive Director of The European Tour in 1975 and served until 2004. Under his leadership, the Tour embarked on a period of unprecedented growth. When he began there were 17 events with total purses of less than 500,000. Upon his retirement, there were 96 events on The European Tour, European Challenge Tour and the European Seniors Tour offering more than 85,000,000 in prize money.

Schofield, also born in Scotland, developed innovative strategies -- like the development of golf programming arm European Tour Productions -- that were instrumental in growing The European Tour. That success translated to the Ryder Cup, which Schofield helped turn into one of golf's premier events.

Willie Park Jr. joins Ken Venturi and Fred Couples as the third member of the Class of 2013. Park will be inducted through the Veterans Category. The Hall of Fame will round out the Class of 2013 by announcing inductees from the International Ballot and Veterans and Lifetime Achievement categories in the coming months. To read the press release, click here.

Willie Park Jr.

Along with his father, World Golf Hall of Fame member Willie Park Sr., Park helped form one of the legendary families in golf history.Park is one of the Open Championship's most distinguished players, winning in 1887 and 1889 while compiling 12 top-10 finishes in golf's oldest major. He also did pioneering work in many other areas of the game both in Europe and the United States.

He also made an impressive mark in golf course architecture after his playing days, designing more than 100 courses in the British Isles and Western Europe. Sunningdale Golf Club outside of London is one of his most famous designs. His success in this arena carried him to the United States and Canada after the turn of the century, where he designed more than 70 courses.

Ken Venturi joins Fred Couples as the second member of the Class of 2013. Venturi's selection was announced by PGA TOUR Commissioner Tim Finchem at Pebble Beach Golf Links on Oct. 8, 2012. To read the press release, click here.

Ken Venturi

Venturi forged an iconic career in the game, both on the course and in the broadcast booth. As a player, Venturi made his most dramatic mark in the 1964 U.S. Open, where he overcame 100-degree temperatures at Congressional Country Club and severe dehydration to win his only major championship. Carpel tunnel syndrome forced him out of competitive golf after 13 other victories on the PGA TOUR and a Ryder Cup appearance on the winning U.S. Team in 1965.

In 1968 Venturi joined the CBS television team. It began a 35-year career that saw him become one of the most respected voices in the game. In 2000, he received the PGA of American Lifetime Achievement in Journalism Award. That same year, he captained the U.S. Team to victory in the first Presidents Cup competition.

Fred Couples is the first member of the Class of 2013, and was announced in a press conference at the TOUR Championship by Coca-Cola on Sept. 19, 2012. To read the press release, please click here.

Fred Couples

Couples is one of the game's most popular players and is revered for his picturesque golf swing. He won the 1992 Masters Tournament, which made him the first American player to reach No. 1 in the Official World Golf Rankings. He dominated in the early 1990s, winning PGA TOUR Player of the Year and the Vardon Trophy in 1991 and 1992.

He is also a fixture for the United States in team competitions, playing on five Ryder Cup teams and four Presidents Cup teams. He captained the winning U.S. Presidents Cup teams in 2009 and 2011 and will once again lead the Americans at the 2013 Presidents Cup at Muirfield Village. He will be an Assistant Captain for the U.S. at the upcoming Ryder Cup.
