Has golf changed your life? Now is your chance to help create a lasting legacy and your own imprint on the game’s history.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the mission of the World Golf Hall of Fame is to celebrate golf and preserve the legacies of those who have made it great. Supported by all of the world’s leading golf organizations, the Hall of Fame combines historic artifacts and personal memorabilia with interactive exhibits to tell the stories of our members and the history of the game.
The Museum has over 35,000 square feet of exhibit space with over 4,000 items on display throughout, many of which are the personal items of Hall of Fame members like Jack Nicklaus, Nancy Lopez, Arnold Palmer and many others. New displays are added during the Induction Ceremony which celebrates the recently added members.
Donations help support the organization’s most pressing needs and ongoing mission programs. Unrestricted cash donations (which can be made in any amount) are applied to our Annual Fund.
The most common forms of gifts and pledges are outright gifts of cash and securities, but there are other types of assets that may be donated, as well as planned giving options that may have favorable financial and tax benefits.
Many companies sponsor matching gift programs that will match charitable contributions made by their employees, retirees or trustees. Check with your company for more information on its matching gift program.
Gifts given in honor or memory of an individual to the Hall of Fame can celebrate a personal milestone such as an anniversary or retirement, or honor and commemorate a loved one who loved the game, all while furthering the museum’s mission to honor the game of golf through stories of its members.
The Hall of Fame & Museum serves as a steward of the game through engaging, interactive storytelling and exhibitions featuring artifacts, works of art, audio, video and photography significant to the history of golf and tells the story of the game through the greats that have been inducted for their achievements.
Planned gifts benefit a donor by establishing a permanent legacy in their name, helping meet charitable goals and reducing income, estate and/or inheritance tax liability.
Examples of Hall of Fame Planned Gifts
You can create a lasting legacy by honoring the past, present and future of the game you love. Please consider the World Golf Hall of Fame in your will.
We’re honored to have you consider the World Golf Hall of Fame and our mission as a way of leaving a legacy and creating a lasting connection to the game you love. The process of making a bequest to the World Golf Hall of Fame can be very simple. Include the following sentence in your will, trust or other charitable planning instrument.
Retirement Plan Beneficiary:
Due to the significant taxes imposed on retirement plan assets at death, making a gift through a beneficiary designation on your 401k, 403b, or IRA may be one of the most prudent gift assets you can give.
Charitable trusts provide a unique giving arrangement that allow the donor to receive income from the trust for life, leaving the balance to charity. Tax advantages may be realized through the use of these types of giving arrangements.
Naming the World Golf Hall of Fame as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy is a very cost effective means of making a significant legacy gift. Because premiums are a fraction of the death benefit, life insurance allows a donor to make a much greater gift with less total investment.

Artifact donations of historical significance associated with golf’s history, especially as it relates to World Golf Hall of Fame members, are an important component of the Museum. Genuine artifacts allow the Hall of Fame to further educate guests through the display of three-dimensional objects that help build out the stories, while also insuring that the legacies of the game’s greatest players and contributors are properly preserved.
The Hall of Fame acquires appropriate objects for its collections primarily through Hall of Fame members, their heirs or estates. Gifts from the general public, however, can also be an important aspect of building our permanent collection.
If you own an object that directly relates to a Hall of Fame member, or an object that is unique to golf’s history, then our staff would welcome the opportunity to speak with you regarding a possible donation.
Please provide the following information:
- A brief description of the artifact
- A brief description regarding the artifact’s story and origin
